We made it to Korea 13 hours later! Neither of us slept a wink and are dead tired. I am not a great sitter and found myself needing to stand every few hours on the plane. The plane actually had more non-asians than we thought. We wondered what they were doing coming to Seoul but after seeing their baggage it appeared to be a lot of military people. The rest were businessmen.
The guest house is clean and nice. Definitely not the Ritz Carlton but it will be fine. Here are some pics. We have a small refrigerator, microwave, sink and 1 burner stove. Our bedroom is in a separate room (without a door) and they have an alcove that has a crib and highchair. The floors are a Pergo wood. Everything is very clean and rather roomy compared to a hotel room. A cute older Korean man checked us in and showed us around. He could barely speak a lick of English but we could tell it was fun for him to try. I rambled in Korean and every now and then an English word would come out and we would shake our heads like we understood what he meant! Very sweet and jolly man though. Of course, his English is much better than our Korean. We are still working on "Hi" and "Thank you"
We went and tried to grab dinner tonight but all the restaurants were closed on Sunday. We found one open by our hotel called "Food2900" so our choice was made. We went in and they didn't have an English menu so we pointed to what someone else was having and said we wanted it to. It was a spicy noodle soup and some sort of pickled sushi roll. It was good but very spicy. Without thinking, I drank the water, so I am hoping I am not in the bathroom all night!
We then stopped at a convenient mart and picked up some drinks and snacks.
I miss the kids already. Davis would have loved the kids movie choices on the plane. Then we get to the apt and Ben10 is one TV. Made me miss them even more! Instead, I am settling on watching Lord of Rings (in English) with Milon :>
Off the bed. We have an exciting day tomorrow! We have to be at the social welfare building at 9:00am to be taken to the foster family's home. We found the Starbucks near our hotel and the Dunkin Doughnuts so we are set for breakfast!
